Happy Birthday Makenlee

We met Jon for lunch so he could sing Happy B-day to her since he had to work late. She loves eating out. So we took her to Ruby Tuesday. One of our favorite restaurants.

Today we celebrate our daughter's 1st b-day. I am amazed that she is already 1. Time does fly. We have had a whirlwind weekend so I will post pictures later. We fell so blessed by our little girl. She has brought so much joy to our lives and our faith and trust in God has grown through the last year of her life. We praise Jesus for her. She is His little princess given to us to draw closer to Him. Thank you Jesus!!!

Miss Makenlee's B-day Party

We had M's party today. It was so fun. She had a good time and enjoyed all the attention and fun. I am still sifting through all the pictures but wanted to post a few.

Yummy, cake. She did not get the whole cake thing at first. She kept lifting up the cake, but then Jon gave her a spoon to use and she had a ball.

Easton is already reading. Wow. He is so smart. I think he just memorized it. But it still was cute to watch him read it to me.

Watch what you say

Easton has really picked up on what we say and at times taken it quite literal. Which I am not to happy about. Jon has always told Easton that since he has a little sister he has to protect her and watch out for her. So 2 weeks ago we are all at Sprout and this little boy accidentally knocked Makenlee over. Easton goes up and says, "I am going to push that little boy that hurt Makenlee." I am glad he wants to protect her but I really don't want him beating other kids up. Ha.
Today Jon was pinching his butt and saying, "I am pinching your butt." They were laughing and I said Jon, "You can't do that he is going to think it is ok and do it to other kids and then we will get a call from school." After Jon leaves Easton comes up to me and says, " I pinch your butt." I said, " No you won't."

We have a walker in the house

Miss M took 3 steps all by herself today. We were so thrilled. She got so happy after doing it. It was right before she went to bed so we will see if it continues tomorrow.

No nap for the little misses

I put Makenlee down for a nap at the normal time and I went to do some chores. After I was done I went to call Jon on my cell phone but I could not find my cell phone. I thought it was in my sweatshirt pocket but it was not there. So I called it from the home phone. Sure enough it rings in Makenlee's room and she starts crying. She stops after a minute or so then about 20 minutes later she starts crying again. Stops and then like 10 minutes same thing starts crying. The darn cell phone keeps ringing and she can't sleep. So I decide well I am going to give up on her taking a nap. Well, she never really got one. But what was funny is it was in her crib so it must have fell out of my pocket as I put her to bed. Poor girl!!!

Never know what you'll find

I was doing a load of laundry and the kids were playing in Easton's room. I walked back in after a few minutes and this is what I found. She is a monkey climber just like big brother. She climbed on his train table and on top of his little people's garage. Then I got her down and she crawled over to his bed and climbed up on top of it. She is a daredevil. I have caught her in the bathroom too trying to climb the counter no joke. I guess when you hear never leave your children unattended that is why. She has great balance so I don't worry too much. Maybe her future is gymnastics.

Now I am mad

So I am watching American Idol right now and they sang Shout to Lord. Last night I thought it was cool. Not anymore. One chick is singing it in a top that reveals her midriff and I am thinking yeah, that would happen in church. Not!! Plus when you sing a song like that you should mean it. Not just sing it to sing it. It is an act of praise to the Lord. I know a couple of them are Christians but I can guarantee they all are not. So now I am mad. ERRR!!!

Jon and I just about had a heart attack

We were watching Idol Gives back tonight and at the end the remaining contestants sang Shout to the Lord. On national TV. Can you believe it? We about fell over. I was in the kitchen and I ran out and looked at Jon we said to each other they are singing this. WOW!!! How freaking awesome is that!!!! Go Fox.

Ok, so I so did not realize I bought my kids the same exact shirt. I bought Makenlee's like 8 months ago and E's in January for his b-day. They both support the RED campaign as so do Jon and I. We think it is great what Bono is doing.

Funny things Easton says

So since Easton was sick a few weeks ago he has been asking for apple juice. He does not normally drink it so I told him you can only drink it when you are sick so he says to me, "I want to be sick."



I have a friend that is moving and she had to get rid of a lot of stuff b/c they are majorly downsizing so she gave the kids some toys, books, clothes, all these leap frog educational toys. She really blessed the kids let's just say. Well, Easton got this really cool v-tech book that talks, plays music and is really interactive. He took it in the car yesterday and was playing with it. When we got back in the car to go back home I gave the book to Makenlee to distract her so I could buckle her in her car seat. Easton said, "I want the book." I said, "After Makenlee is done." All the way I home he says, "Makenlee is done. Makenlee is done." She was not. He just wanted it back.

Treat

We have been working with Easton on good/positive behavior. He is a good kid but there are some minor issues we are working on. Well, lately I have been telling him if he obeys or if he does what I want him to do he will get a treat. Trying to reinforce the positive behavior w/ a little bribery. Ha. Well, today I had a sale early in the morning. I had no sitter so I had to take him. I despise having to take both kids with me as sometimes it can be a little crazy with people and he wants to play with the toys and won't stay with me. So I told him if he obeyed and stayed with me he'd get a special treat. Well, it totally worked out as they let us in before 8am and there was like maybe 10 people in front of me and it was in a small area so he could look at toys if he wanted and I still could shop. Low and behold he literally was next to me the whole time. He really obeyed. So I bought him a toy that was like a $1. So no big deal. Well, I am getting ready to sale some stuff so I am going through his clothes, toys, etc. I found some shoes that I did not know fit him anymore so I told him I needed to try them on him. He says, " Do I get a treat?" I said, " No, you just need to let mommy do this." Smart kid!!!

There is no toy

I bought some easter eggs on clearance yesterday for next year. They have soccer, baseball, football and basketball designs on them. Easton found them in a bag in the bedroom and Jon overheard him say, "There is no toy in them. Jesus must have taken them." We got a chuckle out of that. He comes up with the funniest things to say.

Fun at Sprout

We went to sprout again yesterday. We actually got a membership b/c we love it so much so now we can go anytime. The kids love that place.

It is so fun for them to play and the place rocks. They have really thought of everything. I highly recommend the place. I did not get any pics of Easton but will next time.

Easton is eating us out of the house

Since Easton was sick with the flu 2 weeks ago and did not eat for 3 days and had a light appetite the rest of that week, he is making up for it now. The kid is non stop eating. It is funny cause he keeps saying more, more. I want dinner. I am also trying to fill him up with more filling foods to help him go between meals. I was reading this book on nutrition and it was crazy how some of the foods we eat make our bodies want more food. It is a total chemical thing. So we are trying to get the stuff out of our house and go with stuff that is obviously more healthy and more filling. It is wonder why some kids snack on crappy foods all day b/c they are eating empty things. I thought we ate pretty well but now we are trying even harder. Plus Makenlee knows no different so she is sorta a clean slate. If she eats healthy then she will not know what she misses.

Mommy Lights...

So mommy got her first speeding ticket today. Bummer!!! Easton said look mommy lights. I said yes, Easton, pray mommy does not get a ticket and that he would have mercy on mommy But she did. I still very confused as he told me I was going 45 in a 30. But he told me he would only say I was going 35 so it would not go on my record and I could go to court. What???
