He loves this poolSo happy to be cooling off

Spoof on Justin Timberlake sexy back called Servin' Back

I saw this on a friend's blog. It is funny. It is not as funny as Mark Howerton's Braveheart spoof for serve day. Anyone remember that?

Casey and Makenlee

Casey came over today before Stacey and family move.

Makenlee kept trying to kiss him
and tackle him with hugs.
It was funny to watch her with a younger fella. Normally she is the baby. She was so cute with him.

Family Pitures Part 1

Leah's sister Carrie is a budding professional photographer. She offered to take pictures of us. We politely obliged. She did a fabulous job.

Saying bye bye to Sammie (for now)

Giving hugs to Sammie
I think Sammie wanted the balls but Easton was holding on to them.
All 3 kids watching Bambi

Sammie is moving back to San Diego, CA. Lucky girl. So we got the kids together yesterday and today for some playtime. We will probably see them one last time before they load up the moving truck but I wanted to capture some last pictures of the 2 buddies.

VBS this week

All the crafts for the week.

This week Easton and Makenlee
(for a few days) went to VBS. They both had fun. The theme was God's Big Backyard. Easton had fun but he came home exhausted from lots of activity the whole week.

He does not look happy here. But he was.

41 months

So this is a funny post. I was checking my email today and I had this email saying your child is 41 months. I think this is hilarious. I signed up on babycenter when I was pregnant w/ E and it would send emails weekly about my pregnancy then once he was born they'd come weekly then monthly and so on. I still get these emails I sometimes pruise them but rarely really read them anymore. But you'd think they'd stop maybe at year 3 or something being monthly. I just thought it was funny. Like I'd refer to E's age as 41 months or something vs. almost 3 1/2 yrs. I got to talking to a lady once about that and when you stop saying months. I stopped around 20 mo. I would just say oh he will be 2 in January or whatever. This lady said she once knew someone that said my son is 36 months vs. just 3 yrs old. Come on I lose track after 2 how many months my kid is. Let's see if my mom still got emails hers would be month 443. Ha!!!

1st day of school

Easton is at his first day of preschool. Here they call them mother's day out. But at 3 it is more preschooly then anything. I decided to put him in a one day program for the summer just to get him used to it and well to be honest to have a little break. The program is a new philosophy/curriculum then I am used to and I am very intrigued so I may put him in a similar program for the Fall. We shall see. I would rather do a trial run of it now in the summer then in the Fall when it really counts for something.
It was bittersweet for me as I realized my boy is growing up. He had no issues leaving me. The school had an open house last week where he met his 2 sweet teachers and they played. Today he walked right in and made himself right at home.
Well, I better go get busy doing the million things I need to do while I am one kid down.

Happy Daddy Day

We had a good Father's day. Jon got to eat all his favorite meals courtesy of my cooking. We then had family pictures taken tonight. I am anxious to see them. I think she probably took over 500 pictures of the kids, Jon and I and then some family shots. We did some fun stuff. We now are hoping the Lake show get their act together and win the game. Go Lakers!!

Funy Pictures

This is her saying "So Big". Well, acting it out.

Showing off her baby blues..
I am cleaning out stuff to do a garage sale next week. Easton wanted to try on the frog robe and froggy slippers. The tag on the robe said"One size". I don't think so. It is a little small for him. You think?

Mean lady

Yesterday I took the kids to the library. We were in the children's area and E and I were reading books. Makenlee was pulling some books off the shelf and she maybe had three on the floor. This library worker (an older women) comes up to me and says," Is that your daughter?" I said,"Yes," She says,"You are going to let her do that?" I said,"What? She is looking at the books." She says," She is making a mess. You have to clean that up." I said," Ok, she is a baby. I planned to when we were done here. I thought this was a library not a museum." She then walked away. I kept reading with E and then she just stood behind the counter watching M and me. I was like forget this we are just going to leave. E of course was wondering why as we had only been there for less then 10 minutes and he loves to read at the library. I said, "Because of a mean lady." BIG mistake. So he starts repeating what I said, " A mean lady. Is that the mean lady?" He walks up to the counter saying, "Is that the mean lady? Someone was mean to Makenlee." It was funny but I sure have to watch what I say.

Messy cookie face

We went to the farmers market last week and Makenlee enjoyed a cookie. It was so hot the whole thing melted all over her hands and it was everywhere.

Buying for 2 kids

I have been thinking a lot about how much we eat and spend on food etc. lately. It is crazy how much food we go through w/ 2 kids. Easton has always not been the best eater but the last 3-4 months he has been doing so much better and he will actually eat the same stuff that the family eats. Anyway, so today I was at the store getting a multi-vitamin and I realized that I should be giving both kids one since Makenlee is older now. I literally thought to myself the dosage says 2 can't I just give 1 to each kid then I won't go through as many. Crazy. So I bought the big bottle b/c the other ones only had 30 in them I am like I can't be buying 6 bottles to get through one month. AHH. When I would make dinner we always had leftovers for lunch the next day or 2. Not anymore really. We never used to go through a dozen eggs in 1 week. We almost do now. Then there is chesse. Oh, my gosh I do not even know how much. We go through so much stuff it is crazy. I counted last week we consumed close to 15 bananas. That is probably why my kids are monkey's. I am not complaining at all. I just can't believe how much my kids eat. Is this normal? I wouldn't think adding one person would do this.

My night away...

Saturday night I got to go away for an overnight trip w/ Stacey to her inlaws cabin in the mountains. We had such an awesome time. I really needed it and it was so relaxing and peaceful. Jon was the MAN let me tell you. Saturday morning Easton woke up at 5:45 and vomited so I was mad and said "Well, I guess I am not going anywhere now." Jon said, "As long as he does not throw up again you can go." Well, I thought hmm, ok. So I just did not give Easton food all day. Just kidding. Easton was fine for the rest of the day. So I left in the early evening and we drove up had a great leisurely dinner. We got to the restaurant at 7pm and it was super busy b/c it was a Saturday but then Stace says we can sit in the bar area and order and we don't have to wait. We were like yea, we can do that b/c we don't have our kids. We then went shopping at the outlets got some sweet deals. Then got to the cabin close to 10pm and stayed up to 1am chatting, relaxing and just enjoying our time. I got up in the morning sat out on the porch in a rocking chair, read, journaled and just listened to the quietness for almost 2 hours. After we packed up we then drove through the smokies and up to Cade's Cove. What a pretty drive. I SOOOO needed this. We got home that afternoon and Jon had the house completely clean, the kids were fed and dressed. That night after the kids were in bed Jon was laying on the couch and he looked real tired. He said, "I did an experiment and I tried to do everything you do throughout the day and I am tired. I just do not know how you do it." I was like "really." He said he wishes he could get a new job so that he can be home more with us. He said it is not far to me. I was like"AMEN."
The beautiful cabin Stace's father in law built

We stopped at looked out this old mill.
