Meet Frugalissa....

I'd like to introduce you to Frugalissa Finds.

She is quite savvy at finding deals and saving money. He motto is "Frugal does not mean I have to be cheap". She is into natural living, being green and she tries to feed her family healthy, wholesome food. She is proof you can still be healthy and frugal too.

Staying in bed..

I have a confession to make, Easton has a very hard time staying in his bed in the middle of the night. It is not every night but it is a few times a week he would visit Jon and I. He goes to bed fine and stays there but he would wake up wanting to sleep with us...We are not a co-sleeping family never have been. Well, I take the back. When we moved here and I was pregnant w/ Makenlee E had just transitioned out of the crib to a bed. He then started having nightmares and to calm him down and so we all could sleep (remember I was TIRED and preggo), we let him sleep w/ us some nights. But as my due date approached as well as the fact our queen bed was not big enough for Jon, me and my belly let alone a 2 yr old. We buckled down and tried charts, rewards, discipline, etc.....hardly a thing worked he would keep getting out of bed and visited us in the middle of the night.
For the last 2+ years. I have been woken up to him standing over me in the middle of the night or the last year he has been waking up at 6am....I am not a happy person when being woken up and the morning does not start till 7am anyway. So we would always tell him to go back to bed and so on. He is of the age where he should stay in his bed. heck, he is 4 1/2, right....
Well, I looked into ordering this Good Nite Light....But at $34.99 I said, NO!!! A little outrageous. So when I read Mama Manifesto about one of the Mama's having a similar issue. Her son is the same age as E. I totally had a friend buy me the same light from IKEA when she was in MN in July and I bought a timer and essentially it is the same thing....

I set the time to go on at 7:30pm and then at 7:00am and it turns off.
We tell Easton he is to stay in bed as long as the light is on and when it is off he can get out....He can get out to go potty but then right back to bed and he does not have to tell us he has to go potty. He can take care of business on his own.

The last few mornings I looked at my clock and
E yells, "My light turned off. I can get out of bed now."

It has been 2 weeks and he is doing well.

VIOLA..the boy stays in his bed!!!! Why, did I not do this 2 years ago!!!

My lil Pre-Kindergartner

Easton started Pre-k Thursday. I did shed a few tears while saying goodbye to him on his first day. If I am this emotional over this year what will it be like next year when it is real school. I am happy and sad all at the same time over this new adventure for him.

He had a blast on his first day and talked all the way home of what they did. It just is so surreal dropping him off and driving the pick up line where he jumps in the car and buckles up. How is he old enough to do all this. I miss him dearly when he is gone at school. He has grown up way to fast in my opinion. He is growing up to be a fine little boy which makes me a very proud Mama. His teacher told me as she walked him to the car, "What a sweet boy Easton is." My heart melted.
The night before we made special school cookies.

What a handsome boy

Hanging up the backpack. He looks scared here but he really was not.

Last Days of Summer..

Well, school starts for our county this week. Not that Easton is in "real" school. But some of his friends are and once it starts Easton's social life comes to a screeching halt since playdates are few and far because of schedules. We got used to it some last Fall. But we are hoping to make new friends as Easton will be starting a new program...This Mama is excited and sad at the same time....More on that Thursday when it is his first day...

So the hustle and bustle of Fall is almost here!!!
Since some of the pools will be closing soon we tried to get some water fun in this week.
We also played with water guns and the sprinklers too. So much fun....
Playing at the Y pool.

Makenlee loved walking around and swimming...She is quite the fish...Can't wait to get her lessons next summer as I think she would take off from there. That girl has no fear...

Being silly..

This boy needs to get some meat on those ribs...I feed him I swear!!

I love taking pics....
This was outside from some impromptu sprinkler play to ward off the meltdowns right before dinner yesterday...

As a hospital employee....

The stuff I dealt w/ today while at work.....I really wanted to say to the lady that kept picking at her pimples. "Please do not pick you pimples/zits in front of me...I think that is gross." To the man who would not get off the cell phone the whole time he sat at my desk. "Please get off you cell phone so I can verify your child's info. Without you saying,"What, hold on, what??" The process goes by a lot quicker if you hang up and answer my questions...

Oh and last but not least. I am really sorry your baby has jaundice but it is helpful for you to try and remember the father's name. I mean is that too much to ask...You only slept w/ this man 9 months ago right and you can't remember his name....

But my all time favorite is a Mom comes in w/ a newborn and I say, "Dad what is your name?" "Oh,, no. I am not the Father...I am just her boyfriend...." NICE! So already shacking up w/ someone already....The baby was 3 days old.....

We heart Laptop Lunch Boxes

Some friends and I ordered some of these latop lunch boxes for our kids. We got a group discount and got a great price on them. Well, the kids feel in love immediately. The first thought it would be fun to play w/ them. After a day of that I said, that they had to be used for food from now on.
They filled them up with water and played in the bath.

Easton thought they made good rafts/boats for his animals.

As I cleaned up later. I found this....I think Easton thought it was a garage.

This is what I found first then the above.

All ready to go to the mall for a lunch date.

We are doing our part to be waste-fee around here.

A Yard Sale Return??

We had a garage sale today and this lady came up to buy some of my girls clothes. She said,"How much?" I said," 50 cents each." She said, "10 cents." I said, "No, 50 cents." She said,"Ok..." She then starts piling up the clothes and I said,"Would you like me to take those for you so you can shop more?" "Sure." She says. So I count her first pile which was 40 items. I say,"That is $20." She says,"Ok." She still shops...Gets more items I make another pile this one has close to 6o items....and so on as she shops. She ends up with over 100 clothing items....So finish counting and I say,"That will be $50." She pays me and I get her a box to put the clothes in. I see her go to her car and she is gone for maybe a few minutes and she comes back and says, "You overcharged me. I wanted it for .10 cents an item." I said, "No ma'am I said 50 cents." She said, "Well then I will return." I said, "This is a yard sale not a store. I am not returning your items." She starts to get mad and walks to her car and brings back the box puts it right in the middle of the driveway and says, " I want you to return it and recount...." I said," I am not returning anything. You already paid me and took the stuff to your car. I am not returning it." At this point she stood there for a few minutes while I ignored her to help other people. She finally picked up her box and left.....

After the fact I should have said,"Well do you have a receipt. I only accept returns with a receipt."

Next sale we will hang hang a sign that says ALL SALES FINAL!!! NO RETURNS!!!

Why I don't trust the Gov't right now

OM Goodness, this is RIDICULOUS! If this doesn’t pull up right away, CUT AND PASTE it and make SURE you watch it. You think the ‘cash for clunkers’ program was a good one?

It might be BUT DO NOT go and log onto the website!!!!!

Watch this! Very scary if you logged onto this program from your computer (DON’T DO IT).
