Makenlee found her shadow...

Makenlee found her shadow and it was so funny to watch her. She kept looking behind her, taking big steps, turning around, etc. to try to get rid of it. But is stayed right with her. She even screamed at one point to it. I wish I would have had a video recording of it. I could not stop laughing.

Jon celebrated his 33rd b-day today. Woot Woot!!! We had a fab day together and as a family. We enjoyed all the free food that you get to have on your b-day at restaurants. We still have more places to hit up too. They give you a week after your b-day. YUMMY!!!

Easton was very excited to sing happy b-day to Daddy tonight. He loves b-days as much as I do so it makes it even funnier to celebrate. We decorated the house so when Jon got home this morning he was surprised.

Since Jon is 33. I decided to write 3+3=6 things I love the most about my hubbycakes.

1. Awesome hubby who serves me daily, dates me and wants to know my heart

2. Great Daddy. The kids adore him. He bathes them, changes diapers and never gripes.

3. Follows and serves Jesus daily

4. He is funny and witty

5. The man is so PATIENT

6. Kind hearted and very optimistic

We love you Jon (Daddy) and we are glad you had a great day!!!

It has been cold lately and to have a change of venue we have been hitting sprout. Plus they may be closing at the end of the month so we are trying to go as much as we can.

Heart of Thankfulness

I was reading a book on parenting and it was talking about teaching your kids thankfulness and how as parents we always are correcting them to say please and thank you and so on. But are they really learning it if we are constantly reminding them to say it all time. It becomes more prompted then them really feeling it. Not to say I will stop prompting my kids but over last couple weeks Easton will just randomly say, "Mom, thank you for___" Fill in the blank to whatever he was thankful for. Talk about making me shed a tear and melt my heart. Everytime he says it it basically wipes his slate clean for that day of any wrongs or misbehavior's he has (well, some days). I realize he gets it, he understands and all these years I have prompted is paying off and he is now saying it unprompted with a TRUE heart of thankfulness. I cannot tell you how wonderful it is to hear. Sometimes it is for the little things and sometimes the big. But hey I will take it. My boy makes me so proud.

Making a 1 syllable word into 2

Easton has turned "yeah" into a 2 syllable word. Ye-ah!!! Sweet nothing like talking like real Southerner. HA!!! I have just noticed it over last week or so. I was talking to another friend who's son was not born here and she said he picked up on the same drawl!!

Night Away to Celebrate

Jon and I had a great day and part of the night celebrating our anniversary. That is until we were coming home from dinner and he started vomiting. That and vomits friend stayed with him all night. Poor hubby. But here are pics from our day and dinner.

We hit some of our fave places from CA that were in Nashville.

We got there right at lunch time and went to Baja Fresh. YUMMY!!

Then Trader Joe's for some stocking up. I seriously miss that store desperately. Hard to find healthy stuff like that for a decent price around here.

I wore heels. I seriously have not worn heels in so long. I had to relearn. I loved it though. These suckers were saucy and fun. But man my flip flop, croc wearing feet were purring.

Then dinner was at Maggiano's where we gorged out on family style dinner. I seriously did not eat a whole meal till dinner tonight. I was so full from last night.

We stayed at a awesome hotel downtown. I guess they refurbished it. We had a suite. What was sweeter is it was free.

Sick boy

While Jon and I were away my friend who was watching the kids for us called in the middle of the night to say Easton was throwing up. I told her to call me if she needed anything or if something happened. Plus what Mom would not want to know her kid was sick. Even if it was 2 1/2 hrs away. I felt so bad for her and him. But she said he was a brave lil boy. Anyway we finally got both kids early this afternoon. It was raining real bad so it took longer even though I drove 80 most of the way. Nothing stands in the way of a Mama and her sick kid. I almost killed Jon and I but I was getting to my boy. I did not almost kill us but I did drive REAL fast. Probably not the wisest thing to do in the rain but we survived.

This evening he fell asleep on the living room floor. Poor boy. Seriously has to feel that crappy to do that as Makenlee played around him. He did not even flinch.
Here is a great parenting tip if your kid is gets sick. Put towels and/or blanket on the floor that way if they do vomit you just have to clean up that and not the floor. Also I put garbage bags around his bed on the floor. Who knows if other people do that but I had never done that before that way it does not deep through the blanket and towels.

P.S. Shout out to Krista you are a saint and an awesome friend for dealing with it and letting Jon and I go away. Never say, "What is the worst that could happen." again. let me know when we can payback the favor of babysitting.

7 years

Today is Jon and I's 7th wedding anniversary. We are in Nashville celebrating. Will post more tomorrow. We are enjoying our day and night away just the 2 of us.

Wild Thing

I left my children downstairs to play yesterday for no more then 3 minutes. This is what I came done to find. Makenlee somehow climbed up on a chair grabbed the bag of Cheddar bunnies and poured them into 2 bowls. Then all over the toybox. NICE!!! I have a feeling she had a culprit and help from big bro. HMMM!

She also is wearing her skinny jeans. What I seriously do not think 20 mo. old girls need these kind of jeans. They were hand me downs. I seriously have a hard time getting them suckers on. Obviously my daughter does not have a weight problem. They make this stuff for toddler girls. INSANE!!!

Jon took the kiddies to the park the other day while I ran an errand. It was a very nice day so he took full advantage and enjoyed being outside.

We hope everyone had a great New Year's Eve and a awesome New Year's Day. I want to bed way too late but the kids got up at their normal time. So I am a little tired. We are looking forward to 2009 and all God has for our family this year.

New Year's Resolutions for my kids

I saw this on Mama Manifesto and thought it was pretty funny. So just for fun, if you could write some New Year's Resolutions for your own kids, what would they be?

Here are my resolutions for E and M

Easton
-I will put my toys away with as much enthusiasm as I had when I took everything out and started playing with it.
-I will have a better attitude when my parents tell me do something. I will listen the first time, obey the first time and not throw a fit.
-I will eat new foods instead of flat out refusing b/c I don't like the way it looks. One bite is all you have to take.


Makenlee
-I will potty train rather quickly and easily.
-I won't throw fits b/c Mommy wants me to wear to something other then my red coat, ladybugs boots or Minnie mouse shoes.
-I won't be so stubborn and defiant.
-I won't scream and squeal at ear piercing decibels.

what to do?

So I have been blogging for a little over 2 years ago. I have people that follow my blog, read it, link to it and have me on their front page as a fave blog and so on. I follow some blogs too. Well, some of the blogs I follow I do not know the person directly or I know the person through someone else. Well, what do you do when you run into a person while out and about who does not exactly know you but you read their blog. I ran into a lady at target that I sorta know through blogging. But it was weird. Is is voyeuristic to read someone's blog that you may not know well?? I sorta think so. But will I stop? I sometimes wish it gave me something that let me know who looked at my blog. I have debated going private that way I know who is looking at mine and so on. Does anyone else lurk to other blogs? Be honest!!!

I remember reading McMama's blog and she has 1000 peps read her blog for sure. She passed someone is Target once and heard them whisper about her. She heard,"I think that is McMama." I am not famous like her for sure but it is sorta werid to have your life out ther for all to see and you do not know who is watching. What if some perv found my blog and was looking at my pics of my kids. GROSS!!

Do I go private? AHHH!!! I know there are a lot of people who read my blog but never post a comment. I look at how many people view it so I know there are people. I just don't have everyone's email to send a invite to look at my blog. That is really why I have yet to do it.
